Street Navigation
The Street navigation software is state of the art with the absolute latest features. Utilising 2009 Where IS mapping for Australia, its fast & accurate. Operated by touchscreen, the software is intuitive & easy to use. A few taps is all thats required while navigating to any address in Australia! Voice commands with spoken street names will guide you on every turn while speed & redlight camera alerts keep you safe.
Off road Navigation
Unlike most GPS products, the fun doesn't just stop at the bitumen. The Touring 430 is a true off road gps with preloaded iTOPO 4x4 maps, covering the entire country. So anywhere you go, there will be a detailed map providing accurate information of your surrounding terrain. Advanced features such as track log will monitor where you have been & automatically leave a track on the map so if you are lost, just back track!

With the Touring 430, there is no limitations on which maps you can use. We provide a host of accessory maps to ensure the best mapping support on any GPS. Not just a GPS

VMS Touring 4.3 in the outback

Recently took a trip to Cameron Corner, Arkaroola , Marree, Lake Eyre, Birdsville.
Touring 430 went well until the Bollards Lagoon Bore Track to Camerons then the problens showed up & this the first time we really needed it.
It kept going off the air. We found the battery was flat even though it had been continuously connected to the car. Each time we got it going it wolld last a short time then blank out.
After much experimentation we found the fault(when back on the black top headed for home & no longer needing it).
The CAR CONNEXION doesn't like corrugations.
As an off road unit this is not very bright.
We found the answer was to loop the cord up & over the unit & secure it with Elec tape so the plug couldn't move in its socket where connected to the unit. Then it worked fine.
All else seems OK except the blurp is a bit missleading - it seems you need special MM licences to print copies of your tracks or import your own scanned maps & a number of other features it is credited with.
Apart from the above it seems to work fine, keeps track & its positioning at survey marks like Cameron Corner & a couple of other Permanent Markers we visited (The B&W Dig tree etc.,) seem spot on.
The street function also has had a work out & works fine except that unlike some other systems we have seen it seems behind the times with street addresses up to 4 Years old.
